A Plan to Protect the BC Coast with MP Nathan Cullen
Saturday November 29th, 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Centennial Secondary School
570 Poirier Street, Coquitlam, BC
Join your MP Fin Donnelly as he welcomes Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen for an important discussion on how we can work together to protect our coast from the threat of oil tanker spills, create local jobs and give power back to local communities.
Stephen Harper has rubber-stamped Enbridge's Northern Gateway pipeline.
Every day, this pipeline would move 525,000 barrels of Alberta bitumen across 1,170 km of rivers and rugged rainforest to BC’s North Coast. From there, supertankers would carry the crude through the narrow Douglas Channel to foreign ports. One spill could contaminate this pristine coastline for generations, threatening 45,000 jobs in fisheries and tourism.
Fin has introduced legislation to ban oil tankers off BC’s North Coast. Our community also faces the possibility of a new, expanded pipeline going through our back yard— Kinder Morgan’s proposed Trans Mountain pipeline. Join us for this important discussion.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Space is limited so please RSVP below!
