Full Text of Statement:

Mr. Speaker, next week, I will be announcing support for my private member's bill to save wild salmon. The bill protects wild salmon and allows the aquaculture industry to grow by moving harmful open-net salmon pens to safe closed containment.

Statement from Fin Donnelly on death of Jack Layton

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of The Honourable Jack Layton, Leader of the New Democratic Party. My thoughts are with Jack's wife Olivia, his children Mike and Sarah and the rest of Jack's family. Today Canada has lost a great political leader. It was Jack's leadership and boundless energy that encouraged me to run as Member of Parliament. He inspired all of us to fight for our beliefs with courage, determination and optimism. His legacy will carry on through all who strive to make Canada a better place.
